Countryside Therapy / Guided tour & workshop on making homemade butter

25. 4.  16.00  Dům pánů z Kunštátu

A guided tour of the exhibition Countryside Therapy with the curator, followed by a workshop on making homemade butter by hand.

This multigenerational exhibition presents works by contemporary artists that explore the theme of the countryside as a place with the potential to heal certain problems faced by contemporary society. Sociologists describe the city and the countryside as two complementary modes of being in the world. Can the rural model of life, characterized by a slower pace, a sense of belonging, a connection with nature, artisanry and handicrafts, a more sustainable relationship to the environment, and care for the common good, be a form of therapy for today’s ever-present feelings of stress, burnout, anxiety, and climate angst? In art and life today, people are discovering that these aspects are more than just relics of the past – they are things that can again be a part of our lives.

The guided tour of the exhibition will be followed by a workshop led by the House of Art’s education department outside the building, where participants will have the opportunity to make their own butter. Suitable for all ages.
