WHAT, IS THAT ART? / The Story of One Painting: Program for Schools
How to enjoy exhibitions of modern and contemporary art without the concerns that some visitors may have?
In a series of short-format educational programs for schools, which always focuses on one work of art (or a set of related works), participants do not evaluate whether a painting/sculpture/installation is worth something or not, but understand how and why a specific work fits into the story of modern art.
The program is based on personal experience, contains an art and discussion section. It optionally focuses on Czech art by freely creative artists (i.e. not propaganda) either from the collections of the Brno City Museum or current exhibitions of the Museum (19th century, art from the period of World War I and II / communism / art after 1989 / today). The program is methodologically adapted to the age category of participants (elementary school 6th-9th grade, high school).
