Past, present, and future of communal art
Guided walk with Daniel Styles

The tour will be in english.
Meeting point: Zábrdovická 2

On this walking tour we will explore the past, present, and future of communal art in Brno Židenice & Zábrdovice. It doesn’t take much imagination to perceive the intense redevelopment happening in these two districts on the periphery of Brno’s central core. With this walk we will discuss how art has been used to both unite and separate communities. The walk will also cover topics such as community space, public infrastructure, and gentrification. It has been conceived as a two-way dialogue between the host and attendees, so please feel free to engage vocally with the subject matter.

The walk will also consider how we can continue to create art with inclusive and communal practices in mind. The redevelopment of these areas is unavoidable, but how can we mitigate the drastic consequences that change can have on existing communities, creativity, and art itself?

The event is free and no registration is required.
